Effective as of 1/26/15 Huntington City Council has passed the following laws:
-Bikes are to have a white light on the front and a red reflector on the rear
-Anyone that is 17 years old or younger is required to wear a helmet at all times when riding a bicycle.
-If a bicycle will be used for business purposes it is required that there is a bicycle license plate to applied to the bike for business use.
So what does this mean to you our fellow Huntington BikeSurfer?
BikeSurf HuntingtonWVa will guarantee that our bikes will have a white light on the front and a red reflector on the rear. If when using our bikes you obtain a ticket for not having a light on the front and/or reflector on the rear BikeSurf Huntington will not be held responsible for any tickets that you receive while renting our bicycles. If you are renting a bicycle for someone that is 17 years or younger and they do not have a helmet BikeSurf Huntington will not be held responsible for any tickets that you receive while renting our bicycles. If you plan on using one of BikeSurf HuntingtonWVa's bikes for commercial purposes (such as bicycle delivery, courier, or any business use) you are required to obtain a bicycle license plate from City Hall in Huntington WV. You may obtain one from City Hall 800 5th Ave, Huntington WV 25701.
